Saudi FM Highlights Trump’s Role in Boosting Economic Stability via Iran Diplomacy

Saudi Arabia has expressed deep gratitude for the diplomatic efforts initiated by U.S. President Donald Trump aimed at resolving the ongoing conflict with Iran. The Kingdom’s Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, conveyed this sentiment on Wednesday following Trump’s decision to prioritize negotiation over military action.

In a message shared on X, Prince Faisal praised President Trump’s choice to explore diplomatic avenues as a means to establish a satisfactory agreement that could potentially bring an end to hostilities with Iran. He emphasized the importance of restoring security and freedom of maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz to conditions seen before February 28th, 2026. The minister highlighted that addressing all contentious issues is crucial for ensuring the security and stability of the region.

The comments from the Saudi Foreign Minister followed President Trump’s announcement on Monday that he had postponed a military strike against Iran. The planned attack, which was set for Tuesday, was halted in response to requests from Gulf state leaders, indicating that constructive negotiations were underway. Trump revealed via Truth Social that leaders from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates had appealed to him to delay military action and allow diplomacy a chance.

Prince Faisal underscored the Kingdom’s expectation that Iran would take this opportunity to steer clear of further escalation and engage in meaningful dialogue. He urged Iran to participate in the negotiation process, which aims to forge a comprehensive agreement that could ensure enduring peace both regionally and globally.

Furthermore, Prince Faisal acknowledged and appreciated the efforts made by Pakistan in mediating the conflict, highlighting the importance of collaborative international efforts to achieve a peaceful resolution.
