In a recent meeting held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia’s Cabinet decried the ongoing assaults by Houthi forces on civilian and economic locations in cities such as Abha, Khamis Mushait, Jazan, and Najran. Labeling these incursions as acts of hostility, the Saudi ministers emphasized the kingdom’s right to protect its sovereignty, along with the safety of its citizens and residents, from such threats. The Cabinet also expressed disapproval of Houthi attacks targeting commercial ships and international maritime routes in the Red Sea.
Reports indicate that the attacks across various Saudi cities resulted in injuries to more than 70 people, including women and children. In response, Saudi authorities have been instructed to deliver the highest standard of medical attention to those affected. The Cabinet’s meeting was chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who updated the ministers on his recent discussions with leaders from Egypt, Greece, and Oman.
In addition to addressing the Houthi aggression, the Cabinet reviewed the situation in the Palestinian territories, focusing on Arab efforts to counter Israeli actions in Jerusalem and the expansion of settlements. This discussion reflects Saudi Arabia’s ongoing commitment to supporting regional stability and addressing key geopolitical issues.
Furthermore, the Cabinet welcomed a new agreement between the Saudi and German foreign ministries. This accord aims to establish a strategic dialogue to enhance consultation and coordination between the two nations, signaling a strengthening of bilateral relations.
